Courts to re-open on 29th March

Dear [[firstname]] [[lastname]]

The PM has announced that our Tennis Courts can re-open on 29th March. Here is the latest from the LTA:

“The Government has today (22 February) published its roadmap for the gradual and staged easing of lockdown restrictions in England, made possible by the pace of the vaccination programme. Restrictions will be eased across all areas of England at the same time.

The announcement confirmed that:

Outdoor tennis courts will be able to open from 29 March. This will mean recreational tennis will be able to resume, including singles and doubles social play, 1:1 coaching and organised activity for groups (maximum group size subject to confirmation).
Indoor courts to remain closed until later in the roadmap”

Whilst we await further guidance from the LTA (e.g. use of clubhouse), it’s good to know we can meet up on court. Especially pleasing in that it appears we can move straight to doubles social play unlike when we came out of first lockdown.

We’ll keep you updated as more detail is known. It means we, the Committee, can start making plans for summer 2021. And, you can start planning all those games of singles & doubles, or arrange a coaching lesson. Court booking will start 7 days before 29th March.

In meantime, keep following the guidelines & stay safe.
